On Location: Slay the Stage 2018

Oklahoma has seen a number of music festivals springing up in recent years with a focus on female-identifying artists. From OKC’s AMP Fest to Tulsa’s MisFEST

The latest of these is Slay the Stage, a new event from a ACM@UCO student organization called Women in the Studio. The first of what is intended to be a yearly music festival rocked downtown Oklahoma City in late March, and we were on the ground to catch a snapshot of the proceedings.

Featuring three stages at ACM@UCO establishments in the heart of Bricktown, Slay the Stage featured a who’s who of up-and-coming and established female performers from a variety of music styles.

In part one of our video coverage below, we interview event organizer and artist manager Stefani Heller. Part two features interviews with singer-songwriter Keathley and rock band Elecktra and the Annihilation Carousel.
