This episode looks at the 2018 full-length album Coyote by John Calvin Abney. Acclaimed by a number of publications, the album also marks Abney’s first appearance in Rolling Stone as a country artist to watch. It’s certainly a crowdpleaser, but it lacks some of the exciting ambiguity of his prior release, Far Cries and Close Calls.
