One of Oklahoma’s rising pop artists will be making a splash in Washington, D.C., thanks in part to a recent NPR feature. Acclaimed latin pop act Lincka will bring her colorful live show to The Kennedy Center on August 20th as part of The Para Ti Tour.

Announced today, the tour comes on the heels of her single, “Gardenias”, being included on NPR’s World Café website as one of “10 Songs Public Radio Can’t Stop Playing.” The song is one of three new recordings Lincka released on her sophomore EP, Para Ti, which dropped earlier this year.

Known for her bilingual songwriting as well as her advocacy for Latino culture and awareness, Lincka is a significant new voice in the pop music world. Her production team and bandmates are essential to her modern sound, which is as catchy as it is innovative. Combining live instrumentation with electronics and warped samples, Lincka’s music aims to open new channels of sound and thought to its listeners.

This unique combination will be on full display at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts next month when Lincka takes the Millennium Stage. The prestigious theater offers free daily performances open to the public and broadcast online. Lincka says it was the NPR feature that caught the attention of an event planner at The Kennedy Center, leading to an invitation to perform there.

The Para Ti Tour kicks off August 4th at Opolis in Norman. After that, the pop band will make its way across the country to Washington, D.C., and back over the course of two weeks and 12 concerts. Read below for a more detailed look at the tour schedule.
